This permanent, full-time position incorporates a 39 hour working week Monday – Thursday 7am – 4pm and Friday 7am – 12 noon finish. With a salary of up to £36,000 per year and the opportunity to work for an established, trusted and respected company with a great MD! Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire.
Working as a team, your role a Fabricator/Welder is to produce high quality and cost-effective fabrications in for new and used machinery. Working from drawings you will be welding and fabricating cutting, marking out, squaring off, bending etc and will be highly proficient in using guillotine, rolls, brake press and hand tools.
Fabricator/Welder responsibilities include:
- Fabrication of stainless and mild steel sheet and sections
- Welding using MIG, TIG and Manual Metal Arc
- Manual cutting with Plasma and Flame cut methods
- Weld to insurance standards (BS5500/ BS EN 286) competence measured by in house testing (Coded Welders only)
- Translate drawn requirements into manufactured components
- Work to written manufacturing instructions
- Liaise with fabricator/welders and other staff to ensure optimum production efficiency and effectiveness is achieved
- Maintain a clean and orderly workplace environment compatible with an open workshop facility
- Use of appropriate hand held and powered tools and equipment as applicable in the execution of the tasks set
Ideally you will be educated to City & Guilds / B Tech First Certificate / NVQ L2 and have experienced within a similar role. Our dream candidate will be a team player with a desire to develop and grow within their next role.
