This permanent position of Mechanical Inspector position offers a salary of up to £36,000 per year, 39.5 hours per week (Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:30 and Friday 07:30 – 13:00) 25 days annual leave plus 8 days bank holidays and free on-site parking.
As Mechanical Inspector, you will be supporting the manufacturing operation with quality goods and services. The successful candidate will have experience of working in an engineering or manufacturing environment, ideally with exposure of machined and fabricated parts. Essentially you will possess a Mechanical/Production Engineering qualification, have the ability to interpret drawings and prior experience of using standard inspection equipment.
Role responsibilities:
- Developing systems to inspect and monitor the quality of incoming and outgoing goods
- Routine inspection of manufactured parts (machined and fabricated parts and fabricated assemblies) from in-house production and sub-contract suppliers
- Reject all materials, parts and machinery failing to meet specification
- Consult with engineering to obtain formal concessions
- Inspect supplier documentation and photograph components associated with ATEX rated parts
- Visit suppliers to inspect significant sub-contracted parts or proprietary equipment prior to delivery
- Contribute to the use of Non-Conformity Reporting and Opportunity for Improvement System
- Resolve any quality issues in a timely manner, with internal departments and suppliers
- Recommend improvements to the relevant departments
- Manage calibration of measuring and monitoring equipment
Our ideal Mechanical Inspector will have 2 or 3 years’ experience in a similar role, with the ability to work independently. You will have excellent attention to detail, possess strong decision making skills with the ability to communicate to others with ease.
