The company are a supplier of construction materials to a wide host of customers all over the UK. Their customers range from trades businesses and agricultural sectors as well as councils and larger scale companies. Working in this subsidiary division of a sister company, your role is to oversee all operations, including sales, procurement, business development, quotations, administration, despatch and logistics.
The role of General/Operations Manager is an extremely varied stand-alone role, where you will be wearing a lot of hats! It is well suited to an experienced and proficient operations and sales manager who embraces both office and stores environments.
Location: Andover
Salary: Range from £40,000 – £44,000 per year plus company bonus scheme
Permanent, Full Time, Monday – Friday 0800-1700 with an early Friday finish
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all business operations
- Manage procurement and supply chain
- Produce estimates, quotations and manage customer queries
- New business development
- Liaise with accounts for invoicing and debt collection (handled by their sister company)
- Pack orders and load transport
- Occasionally take deliveries and manage warehouse coordination
Skills:
- Strong people skills with a customer-focused mindset
- Practical and willing to get involved across the business
- Confident taking ownership and making decisions
- Comfortable in working in both office and stores
- Knowledge of estimating/supply chain
- Proactive approach to new business development
